Doug Boles to speak at LHS

J. Douglas Boles, the President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation, will be our inaugural speaker at the Ruth Lilly Distinguished Speaker Series at Lutheran High School on Friday, February 9, 9:30 am. Mr. Boles will speak on servant leadership and the importance of one’s faith in the racing and business world.

Mr. Boles is responsible for the daily operations of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and all four world-class racing events at the facility – the Indianapolis 500, presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, the Indy Car Grand Prix, the Brickyard 400, and the Red Bull Air Race. In 2017, IMS hosted more than 275 event days of activity. As President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation, Mr. Boles oversaw the investment of over $100,000,000 in renovations of the 108-year-old venue, the largest sporting venue in the world, and the implementation of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. A Butler University graduate, Mr. Boles also earned a law degree from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis.

Coliseum Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

The varsity boy’s basketball team from Lutheran High School will be participating in the Coliseum Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, January 13, at 7:20pm, as they play Indiana Crossroads Conference opponent Scecina. 

The schedule for the Coliseum Classic is listed below:

    11:00 am    Franklin County Girls v. Hagerstown Girls

    12:40 pm    Franklin County Boys v. Hagerstown Boys

    2:20 pm    Triton Central Girls v. New Palestine Girls

    4:00 pm    Mooresville Boys v. New Palestine Boys

    5:40 pm    Martinsville Boys v. Guerin Catholic Boys

    7:20 pm    Scecina Boys v. Lutheran Boys

Lutheran High School will sell advanced tickets in the school office during regular school hours. All advance tickets are $10 and are good for all six games at the coliseum. Children two and under will be admitted free. All tickets will be $12 at the Coliseum box office on game day. Lutheran High School will receive $1 for every advanced ticket that we sell.

The Indiana State Fairgrounds charges $5 per car for parking so carpooling is suggested.

On Friday, January 12, Lutheran High School will host the Scecina freshman boys team at 4:30 pm and their junior varsity boys team at 6:00.

Semi-State football game

The Saints will play in the semi-state game v. the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds this Friday, November 17, at LHS, starting at 7:30 pm.

Tickets for the game will be on sale in the school office until 1:00 pm Friday. Semi-State tickets are $10 each and are needed for anyone first grade and older. Lutheran High School students must purchase a ticket and season passes will not be valid. 

There will be a special ticket line for all those who already have their tickets that will be much quicker than standing in line to purchase a ticket.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

The Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is still available to assist you in receiving a 50% tax credit for donations made for the benefit of Lutheran High School of Indianapolis.

The remaining amount of tax credits available to be awarded through June 30, 2018, is $4,866,583 as of November 15, 2017. At the current pace, it is anticipated the entire tax credit program of $12.5 million for fiscal year 7/1/2017–6/30/2018 will likely be exhausted by early December 2017. It is important to act NOW if you wish to take advantage of a 50% tax credit against your individual or corporate Indiana state-tax liability.
