The chapel speaker on September 29 was Jeffrey Huntington (LHS 1992) and principal at Our Shepherd Lutheran School. Senior Kristen Sprowl wrote:

chapel - Jeffrey Huntington“Today’s chapel was done by Mr. Huntington. He talked about how we are always changing. He showed pictures of his son two minutes after he was born. He said, ‘my son has sinned for two minutes already.’

“We all need Jesus Christ in our heart, mind, body, and soul. Jesus is the only way that we are forgiven and can go up to Heaven. We are all doomed to death someday. It just happens. Mr. Huntington said that we can be saved from the evil ways of the devil if we confess our sins and claim Jesus as our one and true God. Even though we are always changing, we will always believe and trust in God. He is with us through anything we do, or anything that may happen to us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you. But plans to give you a future and a hope.’

“God will never leave us. He is there even when we do not know it. God loves us as His children and will never forsake us. Even through death, God gives us hope of eternal life in Heaven.”
