On Saturday, January 13th, Lutheran High School’s wrestlers competed in the Indiana Crossroads Conference tournament at Monrovia High School.  In only the third year of the wrestling program, the team improved dramatically over the first two years.

Sophomore, Dante Akins, (145) became the first wrestler in school history to win a conference championship.  Dante’s record currently stands at 25-3 for the season.

Sophomore Logan Beard (182) and freshman Hayden Filipovich (170) had an outstanding conference tournament finishing second in their weight classes.   Junior Brett Reid (195) finished third in the conference while senior Emeka Jillani (285) and freshman Luke Hughes (120) both finished fourth.

The Saints will be competing in the sectional tournament at Shelbyville High School on Saturday, January 27th.
