Lutheran Beats Hauser 3-1 - September 21 (Win 3-1)

Last Thursday, your Saints faced a tough Hauser team, but came out on top 3-1.

The Saints came into the game strong, seeing some great movement of the ball, probably the best of the year, scoring one early in the first half, and drawing a penalty late in the first half. the Saints topped it off with one more goal in the 2nd half to finish it up. Head coach Mr. Baglow stated, "Yeah, we came in with energy, and the passing and communication was the best it has been all year. These are the kind of games we want from the team, winning practice and transferring it to the game. We hope to bring that intensity in the games to come."

Make sure to come support your Saints in this next week, facing Greenwood Christian Academy on Thursday!

It was close at halftime with a score of 2-0 Hornets lead, but the Saints felt confident they could pull through and comeback. The coach said last year they played Beech Grove tough because of senior leadership and they knew it would tough this year. Beech Grove tacked on a third goal followed by a Riley Wilson bender. However, Beech Grove finished with 2 more goals to seal the deal.

After a Saturday loss, our boys soccer team took on International last evening. The Saints let in an early goal in the first half. Not too long after, Fred Hamer put one under the goalie in the back of the net off a neat pass from Riley Wilson. The second half went back and forth with shots. Off a corner, Mekhi Franklin put a volley on goal and got a hand ball for a penalty shot. Calm, cool, and collected Garrin Hartson puts it in the back of the net putting the Saints up 2-1. Thursday - August 24 (Win 3-0)

Last night the Boys varsity soccer team played a skilled Bethesda team. The first goal came off the steal from Garrin Hartson from a Patriot defensive mistake. The shot landed right over the goalie in the first half. A second half goal came later as Riley Wilson played a nice pass over the defense for a nice chip from Garrin Hartson for his second goal. Minutes later Fred Hamer is pulled down in the penalty area for a penalty kick. Riley Wilson then took the time and patience for the goal. With the subs later holding down Bethesda to no goals for the rest of the game. This puts the saints at 2-2-1.

The Boys JV team took on multiple Bethesda varsity players. They still came out strong only conceding one goal early in the game.

Monday - August 21 (Tie 2-2)

The Saints scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the battle of the Lutheran High School's in order to earn the draw yesterday against the Cougars of Trinity Lutheran in Seymour. The lid was completely sealed on the goal for first 70 minutes as the Saints out shot the Cougars; however, the lid opened on a goal from Riley Wilson, assisted by Chris Nguyen. The game seemed out of reach until Garrin Hartson scored with 2 minutes remaining on a beautiful pass from Luke Hughes. This brings the Saints to 1-2-1 on the season.

Saturday - August 19 (Loss 6-0)

The Boys Soccer team played a disciplined University team Saturday morning. A strong defensive first half kept the scoreboard at 1-0, but the older experienced Trailblazers capitalized in the second half by netting 5 more goals. The Saints loss brings them to a 1-2 record with a hopeful schedule this week to get them back on track.

Thursday - August 17 (Won 2-0)

The Varsity Boys Soccer team won their home opener last night against Monrovia with a score of 2-0, giving Andrew Williamson his first shutout on the season in net. The game was back and forth, but the possession of the ball was dominated by the Saints as they only allowed 5 shots all game. Several players had opportunities to score in the 1st half. Luke Hughes stepped in on a PK to open the contest as Chris Nguyen was fouled in the Goalie Box. A second half goal by Riley Wilson off of a beautiful secondary ball from defender Noah Brandt sealed the deal. The Saints are 1-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Next up is University at home Saturday morning at 10 am. Come watch a heated contest on Saturday!

Saturday - August 12 (Win 3-0)

Last Saturday, the Boys Soccer team scrimmaged the Greenwood High School Woodmen on our home turf. The setting allowed for 2 varsity halves and a JV half, all of which the Saints shutout the Woodmen. Our passing and connections were too much for Greenwood to handle as this allowed Zach Noggle to score in the 1st off. 2 Goals by Riley Wilson in the 3rd half sealed the deal. Assists came from Trey Lawrence, Luke Hughes, and Fred Hamer.
