Saints Notes November 5, 2011
Today is the day to fall back which is something I've been doing my whole life, but folks here in Hoosier-land didn't start until we moved here (coincidence?).
A little family tradition I enjoy on this day and its counter-part in the spring (spring ahead) is to change the clocks very early in the day (hopefully before anyone is awake) and see how long it takes for people to notice.
It was especially helpful when the boys were young - as it was a great way for my wife and I to have an extra hour of quiet when the boys saw the clock show it was bedtime (this obviously only worked in the spring).
For me, I like starting the adjustment to the new time early in the day.
So are you falling back or springing ahead in your life?
Here at LHSI - we seem to be springing to life all over the place. This coming Thursday is our annual Honor Chapel for American Veterans and the men and women serving our country. It's an event that gets most people to spring out of their seats with applause of thanks to these men and women who sacrifice so much. You are invited, we start at 9:40 in the Ruth Lilly Auditorium this Thursday.
Next Saturday is a big day with our Pancake Breakfast at O'Charley's at the corner of Southport and Emerson. Tickets are just $5 each and gets you a complete breakfast. All proceeds go to our student aid fund! We can only sell 150 tickets - so be there early! Breakfast is from 8 to 10am.
Afterwards, we hold our Bookfair at the Greenwood Park Mall location of Barnes and Noble with special performances with scenes from Little Women on the stage in the children's section in the afternoon and other entertainment is planned as well.
I hope you are able to join us for both - check out our homepage for details!
And, don't forget Grandparents Day on Friday the 18th. We start with breakfast for student and grandparent - so send me an email or give me a call if you plan to attend.
Go Saints!
