Saints Notes December 28, 2009

So this is one more thing that will be the last I do this year.

Do you have something like that?  Or do find yourself telling friends and family - 'I'll see you next year!'

Whatever you thought of 2009 - it's nearly gone.  Nothing left but it's place in history.  It is very hard to tell from so close, but at first glance it's hard to see how 2009 will go down as one of the all-time great years.

The nice thing about our celebration of New Year is the idea of a fresh start - no matter how bad or rotten things were - there is the promise of a clean sheet of paper, a blank Palm Pilot calendar, just a promising To-do list without the accusing 'why didn't you do this yet' to go along with it.

We are blessed to live that way in Christ.  Each day - each time we ask forgiveness and repent - we receive a clean sheet.  Washed in the blood of the Lamb, we are able to celebrate and move forward in faith and confidence.
