Saints Notes     July 16, 2010

It's those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer again and it sometimes feels like there is no relief in sight.  When the upper 80s sound like a cool spell, you know its been hot for a long time!

But the start of school is less than a month away (August 11), and despite the heat and humidity works continues around the halls of LHSI.  

Thanks to a generous response at LuFEST this past March we now have new carpet in 7 classrooms installed and ready to go.

Our interim Executive Director/Principal, Mr. Dave Sommermeyer, is in place to lead the school and get us ready for the upcoming school year.  He has a very busy schedule, but be sure to say 'Hi' to him in the coming weeks.

Teachers are in and out with increasing frequency these days getting rooms and lesson plans organized for school.

In fact, a sure sign that we've entered the dog days of summer was a comment I heard from a student earlier this week that they were looking forward to school starting so they could re-unite with their friends and have something to do.

It won't be long now - enjoy these days of summer.
