Saints Notes    August 11, 2010

Whew, it's hot, Hot, HOT out there!  Glasses start fogging over the second you hit the outdoor sauna.  Stay inside today, if you can... get some Sweet Tea or something to stay hydrated with (water is always good) today and the rest of the week.

It's the first day of the 2010 - 2011 school year and there is a mixture of excitement, relief, and trepidation in the air.

Do you remember your first day of high school? 

For me it was a long trip down a crowded hallway searching for my locker number - squeezing between a lot of kids I did not know and did not seem happy to see me - fumbling with the padlock on the first try before eventually getting it to open - throwing a couple things inside and then off ot walk the labrynth of hallways in search of my first hour class.

Here at LHSI, there are just two hallways with lockers.  Those are also the hallways with most of the classrooms - so hopefully no one gets lost today!

A new year brings promise and potential for many wonderful blessings and the opportunity to share God's Word with the young men and women that walk through our doors.

There is much to get ready for... be sure to download your month by month school calendar from our website and circle the Spirit Night at Edwards Drive In on August 25 and the first home football game against Ritter on August 27.  There is also our high-flying volleyball team which opens home action on Tuesday, August 17 against conference rival Scecina.
