Saints Notes January 17, 2012 It's a busy week around school and a short one as well with yesterday off for the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday. This Thursday, the speech team and I take off for Seward, Nebraska to visit Concordia University and compete in their High School Forensics Tournament on Saturday. Then back home on Sunday - so lots of windshield time ahead. It's a great group of students and we look forward to the journey and the hospitality ahead in Nebraska. It's not too far off - but the Spirit of LuFest will be upon us. It's the first time we've tried this LuFest Dinner Auction Preview type event and if you've never experienced a professionally led Beer Tasting - you should check this one out. We'll have the Specialty Brew expert with Monarch Beverage lead us through several beers chosen to compliment our meal while also enjoying the music of Credo and checking out some of the items that will be up for bid at the LuFest Dinner Auction. It's Saturday, February 18 at the Maple Creek Golf & Country Club and seats are limited to the first 50 guests. Reservations are just $50 for this new event. Then in March - you'll want to be with us for the 30th Annual LuFest Dinner Auction Gala at the Marriott East Hotel. Early Bird registration is available through the end of January through our website - Saints Shopping Online - Tickets and Event Registration. This year will feature hundreds of great items, some unique experiences, and the talent of quite a few Saints students. This year we'll also recognize some notable achievements in our Lutheran High family with the awarding of recognition to our Alumnus of the Year - Dr. Timothy Huntington, LHSI 1998 and our Evelyn Benning Service Award Recipient Mr. Donald Scifres. You can register for LuFest on our website as well and look for invitations to come your way soon! Thanks be to our Lord in heaven for the teams of volunteers who make all this happen and build the blessings this mission and ministry is built on. Thank you for being part of it! |
