Welcome prospective players and parents!
If you are looking for a Christ-centered place to develop lasting friendships, learn more about the game of basketball, and feed your competitive spirit, the Lady Saints Basketball Program is for you!
Whether you have played basketball for several years or have recently become interested in playing, we would love to work with you! Our Junior Varsity program focuses on building fundamental skills and basic knowledge of basketball. It is exciting to see their improvement as the season progresses! The Varsity program builds upon this knowledge as they study opponents as well as themselves through film sessions. Practices at this level are high energy and built around skills within the team’s offensive and defensive schemes.
Basketball is a wonderful sport to experience. Not only is it one of the most popular sports in the state, but there are daily opportunities to learn life lessons that will benefit these young women the rest of their lives.
Responsibility: This is a team - a family - and each member is responsible to represent the team, the school, and themselves in a Christ-like manner. It is also important for athletes to communicate with coaches and teammates about concerns or upcoming conflicts as they learn to advocate for themselves.
Accountability: Each member of the team is counted on to give their best effort in their role, run offenses and defenses called, and make the team better every day This life skill is important to develop as these young women prepare for college and their future jobs, where someone is always counting on them!
Mental Toughness: The season runs from October to February. There are many ups and downs, strengths and struggles. The coaches encourage the girls to dig in and embrace these challenges as they arise. We also play talented teams. Preparing for and playing these teams also teaches the athletes to not back down from obstacles they face.
Friendships: Building trust within any group takes times and effort, but it is always worth it in the end! Friendships made on sports teams typically last because the athletes depend on each other, spend a lot of time together, and share so many experiences together!
We hope you will join us in continuing to build our basketball program! Please contact Head Coach Joe Morgan to find out more details.
The coaches work year-round to plan for the upcoming season. You will be hard-pressed to find a group of more dedicated, caring, and experienced coaches who are not only committed to building a strong program, but strong women in their faith and abilities off the court.
